Overview

Understanding Acne

Acne is the most frequent skin condition in the United States. It is characterized by pimples that appear on the face, back, and chest. Non-inflammatory whiteheads and blackheads (comedones) appear more on the face and shoulders, while inflamed red pustules or papules fill with pus.

Acne develops when sebaceous glands produce sebum that becomes trapped below the skin, along with sloughed-off cells. We tailor treatment to the type and severity of your acne.
